12/14 - Kid's Cooking Class with Chef Cassie

Attention mini-chefs - you've adored our kid's cooking classes, and we're thrilled to offer even more delicious opportunities for you! Sunset & Co. is excited to announce a new children's cooking class on Saturday, December 14th from 9:30 to 10:30 am!

Led by experienced instructors Cassie Hwang and Mariela Aguilar (both teachers at St. David’s Episcopal School), your child will delight in crafting deliciously adorable, take-away treats during this interactive 1-hour session.

With small class sizes, teamwork skills are emphasized as each child creates a delectable treat to proudly showcase at home. Early exposure to cooking and baking can nurture a passion for food and curb picky eating habits, fostering a lifelong love for culinary adventures. Plus, enjoy a special 10% discount on store purchases throughout the class.

THE IMPORTANT STUFF:

• Class is best suited for children ages 4 to 8 years old; 8 students maximum per class
• Cassie and Mariela will be with your child in our Sunset & Co. kitchen for the 1-hour duration
• Mom or Dad is invited to stay on the property during the class and shop with a 10% discount (some exceptions apply)
• Class ends at 10:30 sharp and parents are expected to be back for pickup before the class ends

INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION:

• Cassie Hwang is a teacher at St. David's Episcopal School during the day and an at-home "experimental chef" by night! She has worked in children's education for 9 years (5 in deaf education & 4 at St. David's) and currently leads the after-school cooking classes at St. David's. She often cooks with her 5-year-old niece, who has acted as her "test group" for classes. Growing up, Cassie loved watching the Food Network, and this is where her love for creating sweet treats blossomed. Her favorite thing about cooking and baking is seeing and tasting the goodness that your hard work created!
• Mariela Aguilar joins Cassie as an instructor of the after-school cooking classes at St. David's and has worked with children for eight years. Mariela has a passion for cooking at home and working with children, so what better way to combine her two favorite things than children's cooking classes? Her philosophy is that cooking is a great way to have new experiences and create a memory. Their shared goal for this class is that your children have fun and create yummy food while being in a safe environment!

• Food Allergies:
  • Please note that it may be difficult to guarantee the restriction of certain foods based on a child's food allergy, as some foods sourced for this class may be pre-made in a factory or store-bought. We do try to steer clear from peanuts as best as possible and send the treat home so you can be the judge.
  • If your child has any food allergies, please reach out to us in advance of purchasing tickets at info@sunsetandco.com so we can determine if the cooking class will be a safe environment for your child. 
• Drop off and pick up:
  • Parents are invited to shop at Sunset & Co. while their child participates in the class and are provided a 10% discount on their entire purchase, valid until 11:30 am of the same day. If the parent decides to drop off and pick up their child, we ask that parents be back in Sunset & Co. no later than 10:30 am sharp.
• Refund/Cancellation Policy: 
  • Due to the high demand for these classes, refunds for cancellations can be made up to 4 days before the day of the event. If it is less than 4 days before the event, we invite you to give your tickets to other attendees and provide us with their names.
  • Sunset & Co. has the right to cancel or reschedule the event should extenuating circumstances arise and will provide refunds should this occur. If you have questions about this event or need to cancel, please contact info@sunsetandco.com as soon as possible.
